Step 1: What are you installing it on?

Semi Truck, Sleeper Cab, or Day Cab

You need a rooftop unit. Your options are the 5RM, 6RM, 9RM, X7RM, or 12RM Dual Fan. Jump to Step 2.

RV, Motorhome, or Camper Van

If your RV has a standard square 14.5 x 14.5 in roof opening, the 12RV is your unit — it's purpose-built for RVs and is the quietest unit we make at 28 dB. If you have a non-standard roof or want to explore other options, the 5RM or 6RM also work on RVs with a rectangular roof cut. Jump to Step 2.

Yard Truck / Terminal Tractor / Spotter Truck

You need the YTRM. It is the only unit in our lineup purpose-built for yard trucks. Compatible with Kalmar, Ottawa, Capacity, Tico, and Autocar. Heavy Equipment (Excavator, Forklift, Loader, Crane, etc.)

Rooftop units work on most heavy equipment cabs. The 9RM is the most common choice for large equipment cabs. The 6RM works well for smaller cabs where quiet operation matters. If your equipment has a side or wall-mount location (no flat roof), consider the WMB QC or WMB ST split units. Jump to Step 2.

Van, Sprinter, Transit, or Cargo Vehicle

If you can cut the roof, a rooftop unit like the 5RM or 6RM works well. If you cannot or do not want to cut the roof, the FLEX QC, FLEX ST, WMB QC, or WMB ST split units install without a roof cut. Jump to Step 2.

Equipment With No Flat Roof (Side Mount Required)

You need a wall or side-mount split unit. Your options are the WMB QC (Quick Connect, easiest install) or WMB ST (standard hose, requires licensed HVAC tech). Jump to Step 3.

Step 2: What is your priority?

I need the lowest price / simplest install

→ B-COOL 5RM - $888, available to purchase online right now. Lightest rooftop unit at 40 lbs, 400 m³/h airflow, same roof cut as the X7RM so it's directly upgradeable later. Best entry point into DC no-idle cooling.

→ B-COOL 6RM - 38 dB, lowest amp draw (30–60A at 12V) of any rooftop unit we make. Best for overnight sleeper cab use, solar-powered builds, and applications where noise matters. Pricing upon request.

→ B-COOL 9RM - same 38 dB quiet operation as the 6RM but larger (77 lbs, 30.4 x 38.2 in footprint) with higher airflow (350 m³/h) designed for bigger interiors. Best for large semi cabs, sleeper cabs, and heavy equipment. Pricing upon request.

→ B-COOL X7RM - the ONLY unit in the B-COOL lineup with PTC electric heating. Cools and heats entirely off DC battery power. Same roof cut as the 5RM, so it's a direct upgrade. Best for cold-climate operators who need no-idle heat as well as cooling. Pricing upon request.

Step 3: Rooftop or Split Unit?

I can cut the roof / I want a rooftop unit

Go back to Step 2 above and choose based on your priority.

I cannot or do not want to cut the roof

You need a split unit. The condenser mounts outside (on the back, side, or bumper of the vehicle), and the evaporator mounts inside the cab. No roof cut required.
