Contact Us to Request Pricing

The B-COOL FLEX QC is a 12V and 24V DC-powered split no-idle air conditioner with Quick Connect pre-charged pipes — designed for the fastest possible professional installation. Where the FLEX ST requires a licensed refrigeration technician to charge and connect the refrigerant lines on-site, the FLEX QC arrives with pre-charged Quick Connect pipes that click together without any refrigerant handling equipment. Cut, route, connect, power on.

As a split system, the FLEX QC separates the evaporator (inside the cab) from the condenser (outside the vehicle) — giving installers full flexibility over where each component is mounted. No roof penetration required. The condenser can be mounted on the exterior wall, undercarriage, or any location with adequate airflow, and the flexible hose routes wherever the installation demands.

At 53 lbs with 350 m³/h of airflow, the FLEX QC is ideal for van conversions, RVs, heavy equipment, and fleet applications where installation speed, flexibility, and no roof cutting are the priorities. No engine idling. No shore power. No generator. Runs entirely off your 12V or 24V DC battery system.

The FLEX QC is a split system — the evaporator mounts inside the cab and the condenser mounts outside the vehicle. The two units are connected by flexible pre-charged Quick Connect hoses that route through the vehicle body. No roof penetration required.

Professional installation required.

Step 1 — Plan your mounting locations
Determine the best mounting location for the evaporator inside the cab and the condenser outside the vehicle. The condenser requires adequate airflow clearance. The flexible hose routing allows significant flexibility in placement.

Step 2 — Mount the evaporator
Mount the evaporator unit inside the cab in the chosen location using the included hardware.

Step 3 — Mount the condenser
Mount the condenser unit on the exterior of the vehicle in the chosen location. Ensure adequate airflow clearance around the condenser.

Step 4 — Route the Quick Connect hoses
Route the pre-charged Quick Connect hoses between the evaporator and condenser through the vehicle body. The flexible hose allows routing through existing openings, grommets, or custom penetrations as required by the installation.

Step 5 — Connect the Quick Connect fittings
Click the Quick Connect fittings together firmly until locked. The system is pre-charged — no refrigerant handling equipment required. Verify fittings are fully seated and locked before powering on.

Step 6 — Connect the control panel wiring
Connect the control panel wiring between the evaporator and interior control panel.

Step 7 — Connect power
Run the power cable to your 12V or 24V battery bank. Connect positive first. Install the included 100A fuse in line with the power cable as close to the battery as possible.

Step 8 — Set low voltage protection
Before first use, program the voltage cutoff to protect your battery system:

  • 12V systems: set cutoff between 9V – 12V
  • 24V systems: set cutoff between 19V – 24V

Step 9 — Power on
Turn the unit on and verify operation in all modes.

When battery voltage drops to the cutoff threshold the unit shuts off automatically to prevent battery damage.

Who It's Built For

The FLEX QC is the right unit if:

  • You need the fastest possible professional installation — the Quick Connect pre-charged pipes eliminate the refrigerant handling step entirely, reducing install time significantly compared to the FLEX ST
  • You're a dealer, upfitter, or fleet manager installing multiple units and need a consistent, repeatable install process that doesn't require a licensed refrigeration technician on every job
  • You're building a conversion van, Sprinter, Transit, Promaster, or custom off-grid vehicle and need a split system that doesn't require cutting a hole in the roof
  • You have an RV, motorhome, or camper where roof mounting is not possible or not preferred, and you need flexible condenser placement
  • You operate heavy equipment where the cab configuration makes a rooftop unit impractical — excavators, bulldozers, cranes, or specialty equipment where the condenser can be mounted on the exterior frame or undercarriage
  • You want a no-idle DC air conditioner with full installation flexibility and no refrigerant handling on-site

The key difference between the FLEX QC and FLEX ST is the refrigerant connection method. The FLEX ST uses standard refrigerant hoses that require on-site charging by a licensed technician. The FLEX QC uses pre-charged Quick Connect pipes that connect without any refrigerant equipment. If installation speed and simplicity are priorities, the FLEX QC is the right choice.

Applications

Van Conversion & Upfitting — Sprinter, Transit, Promaster, and custom conversion vans where roof mounting is not possible or not preferred

RV & Motorhome — applications where flexible condenser placement is needed and roof mounting is not an option

Heavy Equipment — excavators, bulldozers, cranes, specialty equipment where split system flexibility and exterior condenser mounting are required

Fleet Upfitting — dealer and fleet installations where Quick Connect eliminates the need for a refrigeration technician on every install, reducing labour cost and turnaround time

Off-Grid Solar Builds — battery-powered off-grid vehicles where split system flexibility and no roof penetration are design priorities

Agriculture — tractors and harvesting equipment where cab configuration makes rooftop mounting impractical

FAQ

What is Quick Connect and how does it work?
Quick Connect is a pre-charged refrigerant pipe system where the refrigerant is already sealed inside the pipes at the factory. Instead of connecting standard refrigerant lines that require on-site charging and a licensed refrigeration technician, you simply click the Quick Connect fittings together until locked — the system is charged and sealed instantly, with no refrigerant handling equipment required.

What is the difference between the FLEX QC and the FLEX ST?
Both are the same split system unit with the same specs — 350 m³/h airflow, 48 dB, 35–65A at 12V, 53 lbs. The difference is the refrigerant connection method. The FLEX ST uses standard hose connections that require on-site charging by a licensed refrigeration technician. The FLEX QC uses pre-charged Quick Connect pipes — no refrigerant equipment needed. The FLEX QC also includes a 100A fuse as standard. If installation speed and simplicity matter, choose the FLEX QC.

Does the FLEX QC require a roof cut?
No. As a split system, the condenser mounts on the exterior of the vehicle and the evaporator mounts inside the cab. The hoses route through the vehicle body via existing openings or custom penetrations — no roof cut required.

Does the FLEX QC work on both 12V and 24V systems?
Yes. The FLEX QC is available in both 12V and 24V configurations. Select your voltage when ordering. The unit is wired for one voltage — it is not a dual-voltage unit.

Does it come pre-charged?
Yes. The FLEX QC's Quick Connect pipes arrive pre-charged with R134a refrigerant. No vacuum pump or refrigerant handling equipment needed.

Is this unit compliant with anti-idling regulations?
Yes. The FLEX QC runs entirely on DC battery power with no engine idling required, making it fully compatible with anti-idling laws and idle reduction programs across North America.

Can a non-certified installer connect the Quick Connect pipes?
The Quick Connect refrigerant fitting connection itself does not require refrigerant handling certification since the system is pre-sealed. However professional installation of the full unit — including mounting, wiring, and routing — is still required. Always follow local regulations regarding vehicle electrical and HVAC work.

What battery bank do I need?
At 12V, the FLEX QC draws between 35 and 65 amps. Contact our technical support team to size your battery system correctly for your runtime requirements.

Why B-COOL Does Not List BTU Ratings

Every other brand lists BTU numbers. We don't, and here's why.

BTU ratings in the 12V and 24V air conditioner market are tested in controlled lab conditions and competitors go with their favourite testing company and tend to use those results that depicts them the "best". Real-world performance — inside a truck cab or RV sitting in the sun at 100°F+ — is a completely different story. The numbers you see on competitor listings are inflated, and we are not willing to publish figures that mislead the people who depend on this equipment to stay safe and productive.

Lower amp draw means longer battery runtime. For operators running on batteries overnight, during rest breaks, or in anti-idling zones, the 6RM stretches your power further than any other rooftop option in our lineup.
