Contact Us to Request Pricing

The B-COOL WMB QC is a 12V and 24V DC-powered wall and side mount no-idle air conditioner with Quick Connect pre-charged pipes — delivering the fastest possible professional installation with no roof penetration required. The evaporator mounts on the interior wall or ceiling of the cab, the condenser mounts on the exterior of the vehicle, and the pre-charged Quick Connect pipes connect the two units without any refrigerant handling equipment on-site.

Where a rooftop unit requires cutting a hole in the roof, the WMB QC mounts on the wall or side of the cab — making it the right choice for vehicles where roof mounting is not possible, not practical, or not permitted. No roof cut. No structural compromise. Full DC no-idle cooling from a wall or side mount position.

At 44 lbs with 350 m³/h of airflow, the WMB QC is the lightest split system in the B-COOL lineup. Powered entirely by your 12V or 24V DC battery system — no engine idling, no shore power, no generator required.

The WMB QC is a split system — the evaporator mounts on the interior wall or ceiling of the cab and the condenser mounts on the exterior of the vehicle. The two units are connected by flexible pre-charged Quick Connect hoses. No roof penetration required.

Professional installation required.

Step 1 — Plan your mounting locations
Determine the best wall or side mounting location for the evaporator inside the cab. Determine the condenser mounting location on the exterior of the vehicle — ensure adequate airflow clearance around the condenser.

Step 2 — Mount the evaporator
Mount the evaporator unit on the interior wall or ceiling in the chosen location using the included hardware.

Step 3 — Mount the condenser
Mount the condenser unit on the exterior of the vehicle. Ensure adequate airflow clearance on all sides.

Step 4 — Route the Quick Connect hoses
Route the pre-charged Quick Connect hoses between the evaporator and condenser through the vehicle body. Route through existing openings, grommets, or custom penetrations as required.

Step 5 — Connect the Quick Connect fittings
Click the Quick Connect fittings together firmly until locked. The system is pre-charged — no refrigerant handling equipment required. Verify fittings are fully seated and locked before powering on.

Step 6 — Connect the control panel wiring
Connect the control panel wiring between the evaporator and the interior control panel.

Step 7 — Connect power
Run the power cable to your 12V or 24V battery bank. Connect positive first. Install the included 100A fuse in line with the power cable as close to the battery as possible.

Step 8 — Set low voltage protection
Before first use, program the voltage cutoff to protect your battery system:

  • 12V systems: set cutoff between 9V – 12V
  • 24V systems: set cutoff between 19V – 24V

Step 9 — Power on
Turn the unit on and verify operation in all modes.

When battery voltage drops to the cutoff threshold the unit shuts off automatically to prevent battery damage.

Who It's Built For

The WMB QC is the right unit if:

  • Your vehicle cannot or should not have a roof penetration — the WMB QC mounts on the wall or side of the cab with no roof cut required
  • You need the fastest possible professional installation — the Quick Connect pre-charged pipes eliminate refrigerant handling on-site, reducing install time significantly versus the WMB ST
  • You're a dealer, upfitter, or fleet manager installing multiple units and need a consistent, repeatable wall mount install that doesn't require a licensed refrigeration technician on every job
  • You operate heavy equipment where the cab roof is not accessible, structural, or suitable for penetration — excavators, cranes, specialty equipment where side or wall mounting is the only option
  • You're building a conversion van, Sprinter, Transit, or Promaster where interior wall space is available and you don't want to cut the roof
  • You need an aftermarket 12V or 24V no-idle air conditioner and want wall mount flexibility with the fastest possible install

The key difference between the WMB QC and WMB ST is the refrigerant connection method — Quick Connect pre-charged pipes versus standard hose connections requiring on-site charging. The WMB QC also includes a 100A fuse as standard. If installation speed and simplicity are the priority, the WMB QC is the right choice. Both units are identical in performance.

The key difference between the WMB QC and FLEX QC is the mount type — the WMB QC is specifically designed for wall and side mounting, while the FLEX QC offers more flexible hose routing for installations where neither a roof cut nor a wall mount is ideal.

Applications

Heavy Equipment — excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, cranes, mining equipment — side or wall mount where roof penetration is not possible or not practical

Fleet Upfitting — dealer and fleet installations where Quick Connect wall mount eliminates the need for a refrigeration technician on every install

Van Conversion & Upfitting — Sprinter, Transit, Promaster, and custom conversion vans where wall mounting is preferred over roof cutting

Trucking & Transportation — day cabs, specialty trucks, and vehicles where wall or side mount positioning is preferred over a rooftop unit

Agriculture — tractors and harvesting equipment where cab configuration makes rooftop mounting impractical and wall mounting is available

Off-Grid & Solar Builds — battery-powered off-grid vehicles where wall mount positioning and no roof penetration are design priorities

FAQ

What is the difference between the WMB QC and the WMB ST?
Both are identical in performance — same specs, same airflow (350 m³/h), same noise (48 dB), same amp draw (35–65A at 12V), same weight (44 lbs). The difference is the refrigerant connection method. The WMB ST uses standard hose connections requiring on-site charging by a licensed refrigeration technician. The WMB QC uses pre-charged Quick Connect pipes — no refrigerant equipment needed. The WMB QC also includes a 100A fuse as standard.

What is the difference between the WMB QC and the FLEX QC?
Both use Quick Connect pre-charged pipes and have identical performance specs. The WMB QC is specifically designed for wall and side mounting — the evaporator unit is shaped and sized for wall installation. The FLEX QC has a different evaporator form factor with more flexible hose routing options for installations where wall mounting is not ideal.

Does the WMB QC require a roof cut?
No. The WMB QC mounts on the interior wall or side of the cab. No roof penetration required.

What is Quick Connect and how does it work?
Quick Connect is a pre-charged refrigerant pipe system where the refrigerant is already sealed inside the pipes at the factory. You click the Quick Connect fittings together until locked — the system is charged and sealed instantly with no refrigerant handling equipment required.

Does the WMB QC work on both 12V and 24V systems?
Yes. The WMB QC is available in both 12V and 24V configurations. Select your voltage when ordering. The unit is wired for one voltage — it is not a dual-voltage unit.

Does it come pre-charged?
Yes. The WMB QC's Quick Connect pipes arrive pre-charged with R134a refrigerant. No vacuum pump or refrigerant handling equipment needed.

Is this unit compliant with anti-idling regulations?
Yes. The WMB QC runs entirely on DC battery power with no engine idling required, making it fully compatible with anti-idling laws and idle reduction programs across North America.

What battery bank do I need?
At 12V, the WMB QC draws between 35 and 65 amps. Contact our technical support team to size your battery system correctly for your runtime requirements.

Why B-COOL Does Not List BTU Ratings

Every other brand lists BTU numbers. We don't, and here's why.

BTU ratings in the 12V and 24V air conditioner market are tested in controlled lab conditions and competitors go with their favourite testing company and tend to use those results that depicts them the "best". Real-world performance — inside a truck cab or RV sitting in the sun at 100°F+ — is a completely different story. The numbers you see on competitor listings are inflated, and we are not willing to publish figures that mislead the people who depend on this equipment to stay safe and productive.

Lower amp draw means longer battery runtime. For operators running on batteries overnight, during rest breaks, or in anti-idling zones, the 6RM stretches your power further than any other rooftop option in our lineup.
